Jack Pribek shares secrets of life as guitarist

Do NOT miss these two great articles from the Branson Daily News in Missouri, U.S.:

They are 2 articles of a 3-part series (last article not published yet) on life as a guitar pro in Branson, where, according to one of the articles, “You can’t throw a rock 30 yards in Branson without hitting 12 guitar players.”

BUT, the best reason to read them is that IG BLOG regular Jack Pribek is profiled in the articles. Way to go Jack. Great story, with good insight on what it’s like to actually throw one’s self into being a guitar player for a living and what the life is really like. I highly recommend them to all of you here who are itching to leave your day job and become guitar players for a living.

This bit from one of the articles stood out for me:

“…when guitar slingers go from late teens and learning about how to make a living in the music business to salty pros on the back side of 40 or 50 who have been doing it for three or more decades, some things happen.

Guitar players get good or they don’t last.”
